L’accomplissement des travaux hydrauliques suggère ainsi le potentiel de la fondation d’une Nouvelle Chine. Cet article s’axe sur les pièces de théâtre de Tian Han (1898-1968) qui sont souvent considérées comme outil de propagande et qui vantent la conquête de la nature. Elles mélangent en effet la croyance populaire et mythologique, la confiance dans le progrès technique et scientifique ainsi que l’imagination d’un meilleur avenir. In the Chinese literature of the twentieth century, the flood is a regularly presented topic which often suggests political decadence. The achievement of hydraulic works evokes thus the potential construction of a New China. In this article, I have examined the plays of Tian Han (1898-1968) which are usually considered as propaganda tools in praise of the conquest of nature.
