Il distingue plusieurs époques : à l’époque républicaine (années 30 et 40), la représentation de la nature est ancrée dans la tradition picturale avec laquelle le cinéma chinois n’a cessé de tisser des liens ; sous Mao (années 50 jusqu’aux années 70), la nature est soumise au prisme de l’idéologie ; pour les cinéastes de la « Cinquième », puis de la « Sixième » générations (années 80 jusqu’aux années 2000), l’individu semble se réapproprier la nature dont la représentation au cinéma est, bien souvent, soit de façon allusive, soit de façon plus ouverte et plus directe, en lien avec un discours politique. This paper proposes a new review of the history of cinema in mainland China considering the link between man and nature.
