Les trois premiers articles concernent des biographies héroïques ; les deux suivants traitent d’un cas particulier en se concentrant sur la question de l’influence que le fictionnel a pu avoir sur l’historique ; les deux derniers élargissent la perspective en éclairant le rapport entre le fictif et l’historique dans la littérature postmoderne et dans la cinématographie italienne contemporaines. Dans tous les cas, se trouve posée – directement ou indirectement – la question de la mise en fiction d’un matériau historique, de son écart par rapport au pacte de vérité de l’historiographie, de son efficacité et de sa responsabilité au regard de l’histoire. This volume comprises seven essays on French and Italian literature that, although not specifically dealing with the historical novel as a literary genre, focus on works in which fiction and historical writing are intertwined. The first three articles cover hero biographies, the following two deal with the extent to which the fictional has influenced the historical, and the final two broaden perspectives by deepening our understanding of the relationship between the fictional and the historical in postmodern literature and contemporary Italian cinema. Each case addresses, either directly or indirectly, the question of the fictionalisation of historical material and its departure from the autobiographical pact in historiography, its effectiveness, and its responsibility towards history. Questo volume raccoglie sette saggi sulle letterature francese e italiana che, indipendentemente dal romanzo storico come genere, si concentrano su opere che combinano finzione e scrittura storica. I primi tre articoli riguardano biografie eroiche; i prossimi due affrontano un caso particolare, concentrandosi sulla questione dell'influenza che la finzione può aver avuto sulla storia; gli ultimi due ampliano la prospettiva facendo luce sul rapporto tra finzione e storia nella letteratura postmoderna contemporanea e nellacinematografia italiana contemporanea.
