Muestro por medio de los poemas más drásticos y populares del poeta cómo la puesta en crisis del binarismo de género, que se da sobre todo por medio del humor, lleva a una imagen del ser humano más compleja que la reduccionista del binarismo entre lo humano y lo no humano. In the following essay, I present an ecocritical reading of the poetry collection “Del amor” by Colombian poet Raúl Gómez Jattin. I demonstrate that the implicit perspective on masculinity in the Colombian Caribbean entails a critical stance regarding the relationship between humans and the environment.
